My name is Heidi Roberts, and I am the face behind the lens of Louder Than Words Photography.  The journey to discover my passion was not unlike many other photographers.  At a young age I had my first camera and would take pictures of anything and everything.  As I got older, I began to see objects through the lens in a variety of perspectives, from creative angles to up close shots that others could perceive as strange.  This experimentation only increased with the advent of the digital camera.  It was this new medium of the art that allowed me to really start to experiment, always trying to capture others while they were unaware, and in such a way that showed their character and personality.  I only intended to pick up a hobby that would be enjoyable when I purchased my first dSLR, but what I found was a passion that allowed for experimentation, expression, and a love of an art form that allowed for me to share a small piece of myself with every piece of art I create.

As a wife and mother, I appreciate the smallest of moments that create memories in the frames of our minds.  It is for this reason that I have now made it my desire to use the talents that my Creator blessed me with to capture others’ memories.  I strive to catch moments that others may not see, or that are fleeting and pass by ever so quickly that they wouldn’t normally be given a second thought.  It is in these moments that I feel my clients are truly expressed as they are, and in turn provides them with the gift of remembering that moment forever.  It is, after all, these moments that speak to us, and when they are captured in a photograph that will last a lifetime, they are able to speak louder than words.

I live in Akron, OH with my husband, three children, a cat, and a dog.  When I’m not working behind the camera, I am a secondary technology teacher, as well as a self-proclaimed technology junkie who is always fascinated with and anxious to try out the hottest gadgets.
